Day-by-Day Description Itinerary:

Day 1. Arrive in Costa Rica followed by private transfer to Don Carlos Hotel or similar for the first night in Costa Rica. You will have time to ask your guide all the questions you want about your special trip. Located in the oldest historical section of San José, the Don Carlos Hotel is a small, but significant part of Costa Rica’s rich heritage. The Don Carlos was once the residence of two past Presidential families, this historique Hotel is warm and charming. Accommodation in Superior Room. (B)


Day 2. You will have time for coffee before you depart for the Caribbean slopes. We will stop for breakfast (Included) before you start your adventure in the Pacuare River. National Geographic called it one of the world's top 10 river trips in the world. The river flows through a beautiful jungle forest and remote canyons refreshed by waterfalls. The first day of rafting will end with a well deserved lunch (Included) at the Pacuare Lodge with rest of the afternoon at leisure to explore the lodge grounds, try any of the local tours or relax in your bungalow overlooking the river. Day 3. Head over to the main lodge and have breakfast (Included) overlooking the remote jungle and amazing river. Mid morning departure by raft for an even more fun-filled day of white water rafting excitement (approximately 3½ hours over class III-IV rapids), including a delicious picnic lunch (Included) along the river. Arrive at Siquirres, with time to get dry you will continue across the countryside to Arenal Volcano. Active since 1968, the Arenal Volcano covers nearly 80% of the National Park with secondary and primary rainforest with abundant flora and fauna. You will stay at the Lost Iguana Resort located near the famous Hanging Bridges Park and providing an amazing view from your room. Accommodation in a Standard Deluxe Volcano View Room (B-L)


Days 4. Breakfast at Hotel (Included) followed by a group guided tour to the Arenal Hanging Bridges Park located only minutes to the hotel. This tour is an excellent way to learn about a natural environment that has been undiscovered until lately. The trails along with the suspension bridges cover nearly two miles inside a mountainous zone. You will be able to admire the great diversity of flora and fauna typically of the rain forest before heading back to the hotel for lunch (not included) and time to rest before your afternoon activity.

Now it´s time to explore the Arenal Volcano National Park and hike to the base of this impressive active volcano. You will be transported to the active northwest side of the volcano to learn about the volcanic history and to observe the magnificent lava rock formations from past eruptions. Opportunity to have a closer views of the activity in the evening from a safe position  to finally complete the day with a relaxing visit to the hot springs resort and enjoy the invigorating mineral waters. Dinner is included. Time to return to Lost Iguana Resort for your second night in Arenal. (B-D)

Day 5. Breakfast at Hotel (Included) followed by local transfer to Arenal Airport to take morning flight down to the middle Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. After landing in Quepos you will be transferred to El Parador Resort located in Punta Quepos. The El Parador with its blend of Spanish Colonial Architecture is considered one of the top hotels in Costa Rica. The resort offers all the expected amenities of a four star resort, with European refinement and a warm tropical touch! You will have the next two days to enjoy the tropical sun and the infinity swimming pool, or walk the 12 acres of gardens. You will also have the chance to see White-Face monkeys, Sloths, and countless species of birds. You can walk to the Biesanz beach to see pre-historic turtle traps and enjoy the white-sand cove. This beach is good for swimming and snorkeling. Accommodation at El Parador Resort in a Superior Room (B)
Day 6. Breakfast at Hotel (Included) with day at leisure. El Parador Resort offers free shuttle service to the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park and its pristine beaches. Although it is the country's smallest national park, the stunning beauty and diversity of wildlife in its 683 hectares is unequaled. Manuel Antonio contains a charming combination of rain forest, beaches and coral reefs. These beaches are some of the most beautiful in the country, lined with lush forest and warn waters providing good chances for snorkeling. The forest is home for abundant wildlife. A visit to the park is also an excellent option for a morning activity. Additional tours such as canopy, natural history walks, horseback riding or a Sunset Sail can be coordinated. Day 7. Breakfast at Lodge (Included) with early morning at leisure before private transfer to Alta Hotel for the last night in Costa Rica. The Alta is a small boutique hotel that consists of only 23 rooms. The beautifully sculpted hotel cascades down the hill (Alto de Las Palomas) providing exquisite views of San Jose and the surrounding volcanoes and valley. The carved look melds different styles --- Spanish-Moorish medieval, countryside elegant --- into one graceful structure. The vaulted ceilings in the Paseo and wide stone stairway lead castle-like from the reclusive guest rooms to La Luz Restaurant. Accommodation in Standard Room. (B)


Day 8. Breakfast at Hotel (not applicable for early departure flights) followed by private transfer to international Airport for your return flight home.

The maximum luggage weight is 25 pounds Per Person on all domestic flights.
Costa Rica departure tax is not included.  The tax of $26 is collected at the international airport before departure from Costa Rica.  They accept major credit cards, and cash.
